Big Kid Parties

Basic Package

Our basic package is two hours long and includes one DJ who spins the music *and* leads games. Included in the  fee are our fun-makers:  a limbo stick and two table top laser lights.

If the room can be darkened to some degree, the laser lights fill the room with moving color and shapes; it’s like a disco ball but more colorful! The package also includes DJ equipment: a DJ controller with light-up buttons and jog wheels that children can “scratch,” a laptop, a microphone, and a speaker that works for smaller size party rooms and apartment parties. This is a deliberately minimal setup that is unique to our agency.

Games

Examples of games include freeze dance, follow the leader challenges, dance offs, dancing to songs with built in motions like the “Cha Cha Slide” “Macarena” “Cupid Shuffle” or “Cotton Eyed Joe." We often help the kids stage a runway fashion show or costume parade. We lead glow jewelry contests and glow in the dark games. This age is very motivated by prizes, so its usuall a good idea to grab some.

Sometimes we have a jumping contest while we play the hip hop song “Jump Around.” Sometimes we do the classic Mitzvah type games like Coke and Pepsi and Musical Chairs. This age group also just loves BELTING THE LYRICS of their favorite songs, so we certainly allow time for that :)

The games are things like freeze dance, follow the leader challenges, dance offs, and dancing to songs with built in motions like the “Cha Cha Slide” “Macarena” or “Hokey Pokey.” Sometimes we have the children act like animals while we play “Animals” by Maroon 5, or have a jumping contest while we play the hip hop song “Jump Around.” Also, we can create games that go with your party’s theme, be it dinosaurs, unicorns, etc

Run of Show

SAMPLE FOR TWO HOUR PARTY Your DJ arrives in advance of the event so they can be fully set up and spinning the moment your guests arrive. The first few minutes or so the DJ will just be a friendly face playing background music, but once there are a few kids, games can begin. It’s nice for guests to get an energy kick from food (often pizza) at the 1-hour point, then we go back to more musical games. (Your DJ spins nonstop during food time so if some kids only want to eat one bite, they can return to dancing whenever they want!) Then we usually do the birthday song and cake at the 1.5-hour point.  Same thing here: the DJ does not stop their live DJ set during cake time, they keep the jams flowing! This is especially important because after the birthday song parents often need to cut the cake and the kids need something to do during this time. After that we end with a big final dance party!!

We have so much more you can add to the fun! Click the button to your right to learn more about our offerings, including: Karaoke * Deluxe Lighting * Pro Sound System * Photo Booth *Face Painter * DJ Class * Balloon Twister * Dancer/Fun-Facilitator *

Add-ons

All of our DJs use the same core music catalogue, which was created and is constantly updated by founder DJ Natalie. It includes a mix of clean top 40 songs, songs from kid’s current movie and or musical obsessions, teen idol tunes (Taylor Swift for days, Olivia Rodrigo, etc)  songs that are trending on Tik Tok and silly songs that children all seem to mysteriously know (“It’s Raining Tacos” “I’m a Gummi Bear.” “What Does the Fox Say”) Alot of these children like older songs too, for example: certain disco and pop songs from the 80s/90s they learned from their parents.

All of our DJs are music lovers who prepare unique playlists for each event. They are happy to spin just about anything you are into, from old school hip hop, EDM and indie rock to classic nursery songs and Disney Princess hits and Kidz Bop. Just let us know the overall vibe and any specific song requests
